Community Character was founded in 2007, to empower individuals, families, companies, communities and organizations to create a culture of character using the internationally proven strategies of The Virtues Project.In 2010, Community Character teamed up with The Truth Center, LLC to broaden the services offered to inspire youth to choose their higher purpose and avoid the pitfalls of incarceration, drug use, and youth violence.
Experience
Melinda McKnight has an educational background that includes training in Communication - both written and spoken. She has served as adjunct faculty at SUNY Ulster,an instructor at Ulster BOCES and provided workshops and training sessions on a variety of topics since 1998.In 2004, after attending a five day Facilitator Training in the strategies of The Virtues Project, she realized that the best hope for solving the challenges in the world is in the ability of people to understand one another and in our ability work together.
The Internationally Proven Strategies of The Virtues Project have been used successfully to achieve understanding and positive, lasting change for businesses, government agencies, civic and community organizations, homes, schools, prisons and more.

Tanya Williams is the Senior Client Manager/Managing Director at Struggcon Inc. and an invaluable resource. She has a rare gift in her ability to meet, greet and connect with people of all age groups. Ms. Williams is heralded as a youth innovator which is evident in her work as Founder and CEO of The Truth Center, LLC, an organization that conducts workshops for our youth in areas that span from Street Law to Etiquette.Furthermore, her ability to meet people “where they are” stems from insight gleaned from a twenty-year career with the New York City Police Department. During those years, Ms. Williams served as a Drug and Gang Prevention Officer in New York City’s public and private schools. Ms. Williams maintains that she “is on the frontline creating and implementing strategies for the community at large that will keep them connected, protected and educated.” Her motto is supported by her education, training and certifications, some of which – to list a few – include: Certified Life Coach; Spiritual Counselor; Motivational Speaker; and extensive training in Alternative Dispute Resolutions.
